Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western Junior Hockey – 2019-20
<\/strong><\/p>\n

To register your child (or children) fill out the ‘Membership Request’ form on the side of this page (below if viewing from mobile).\u00a0 Once completed, you will receive an e-mail notification to confirm your application.\u00a0 Existing members will receive an e-mail before the start of each season, and will not require to fill out the form.<\/p>\n

What session should I register for? <\/strong><\/p>\n

There are sessions to cover all abilities from beginners to intermediate and more advanced players.\u00a0 The sessions are run by experienced and qualified coaches and emphasis is placed on enjoyment and participation.<\/p>\n

Age Group<\/strong><\/p>\n

Up to P4:<\/strong> Friday or<\/em> Thursday
P5-P6:<\/strong> Friday or<\/em> Thursday or<\/em> Tuesday (boys aged 10 and above only)
P7-S1:<\/strong> Friday or<\/em> Wednesday (boys) or<\/em> Monday (S1 girls only) or<\/em> Tuesday (boys)
S2-S6:<\/strong> Monday (girls) or<\/em> Tuesday (boys) or<\/em> Wednesday (boys) or<\/em> Friday or<\/em> Senior training (Tuesday\/Thursday)<\/p>\n

For beginners and younger players, the Friday or Wednesday session or the indoor session on Thursday evenings at Shawlands Academy are appropriate.\u00a0 For players who have been playing for a few years the Friday and Wednesday are still appropriate.\u00a0 The coach will divide the session in groups and provide an appropriate programme to all.\u00a0 Players who are a little older and starting to play competitive hockey should consider Monday and Tuesday sessions.\u00a0 The Monday session is for girls who are preparing to play competitive hockey and will most likely be in S1+ or older.\u00a0 There is a similar session for the boys on a Tuesday.\u00a0 These sessions are stepping stones to full senior training.<\/p>\n

If you have two or more children you should consider taking up the ‘Family Membership’ package at Clydesdale Cricket Club.\u00a0 The fee covers up to two non\u2013playing adults and their children aged under 18 years.\u00a0 As this is an adult membership, we will need details of the adults joining as well as the children.\u00a0 There are additional charges if the parents are playing members at the Club.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As an amateur sport club, the Club requires support from volunteers to operate.\u00a0 We are interested in hearing from anyone who could help with the registration desk on a Friday<\/strong>, and to help to administer teams on Sunday mornings.\u00a0 There are many other areas where help would be appreciated, including communications and administration.\u00a0 If you would like to help, please get in touch using the email address juniorhockey@clydesdalehockey.org.uk<\/u>.<\/p>\n

Clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n

We request that children wear gum shields and shin guards when they are playing and if they are representing the club in games this is mandatory.\u00a0 Training tops in Navy or Orange are available to purchase. Please do not wear school branded clothing at the sessions<\/strong>.\u00a0 Details of the Club hoodie and zipper are show in the appendix below.<\/p>\n

Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n

From time to time the Club will post information on Twitter, Facebook or the Club website.\u00a0 The twitter name is @ClydesdaleHC<\/u><\/a> and our Facebook page can be found here<\/a>.\u00a0 Please note that due to inclement weather we cancel sessions at short notice and we do ask for your understanding if this situation occurs.\u00a0 Notice of cancellations will be posted on Twitter and Facebook, so please follow our feed.<\/p>\n

Code of Conduct<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is vital for everyone\u2019s enjoyment and safety that the children behave whilst on the pitch.\u00a0 This includes following instructions from our coaches and paying attention to what is going on.\u00a0 We will not tolerate instances of bullying, verbal abuse, bad language and general disobedience.\u00a0 If a child has to be spoken to on more than two occasions, he\/she may be asked to leave.\u00a0 We ask for your support in ensuring that all the children and those who give their time to coach them enjoy their sessions at the Club. \u00a0 Please be aware that it is the parent\u2019s responsibility to ensure the safe collection of their children from the premises at the end of the sessions.<\/p>\n
