{"id":3298,"date":"2018-02-09T11:30:49","date_gmt":"2018-02-09T11:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/?p=3298"},"modified":"2018-02-14T18:51:05","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T18:51:05","slug":"weekend-preview-10th11th-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/weekend-preview-10th11th-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Preview &#8211; 10th\/11th February"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The Men&#8217;s 3s &amp; 4s return to outdoor, whilst the Ladies 5s host two big games.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Saturday 10th February &#8211; M1s vs. Grange 1s (11.00am, A &#8211; Friendly); M3s vs. Ayr 1s (11.00am, H); M4s vs. Giffnock 2s (12.30pm, H); L5s vs. Uddingston 2s (2.00pm, H)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday 11th February &#8211; M1s vs. Inverleith 1s (2.30pm, A &#8211; Friendly); L5s vs. Irvine 1s (2.00pm, H)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clydesdale Men&#8217;s 1st XI play two friendlies to bring them up to speed with the impending restart to the outdoor season.&nbsp; The 1s play away to Grange 1s on Saturday, before returning to Edinburgh to play Inverleith the following day.<\/p>\n<p>Clydesdale Western 5s host two games this weekend, both of which are crucial in their bid to promote to Women&#8217;s West District Division Two.&nbsp; The L5s play West District Division Three leaders, Uddingston 2s on Saturday, before taking on Irvine 1s on Sunday.&nbsp; Both games are at home and start at 2.00pm.&nbsp; Trish Lonergan&#8217;s side are in great form recently being unbeaten in their last five league games (four wins and a draw) and sit two points off a promotion place in 3rd with two games in hand.<\/p>\n<p>Clydesdale Men&#8217;s 3s host Ayr 1s at 11.00am, in a bid to mount a late challenge for top spot.&nbsp; The 3s, currently sitting 4th in the Men&#8217;s District Division One table, are seven points off league leaders Uddingston 3s, but do have a game in hand.&nbsp; The previous fixture between the M3s and Ayr finished 9-1 in favour of the Ayrshire side.&nbsp; However, unlike the game at Wellington Playing Fields, the 3s captained by Peter Justice have a strong squad available with older statesmen Ali Bleach, Colin Gambles, Colin Moulson and talented youngsters Ben Galloway, Matthew Lonergan and club top scorer David Sturgess all featuring in Saturday&#8217;s game.<\/p>\n<p>The M4s are hoping to press on in their bid to promote to Men&#8217;s West District Division Two as they host Giffnock 2s at 12.30pm.&nbsp; The 4s hold a 13 point lead at the top of West District Division Three, albeit having played a game or two more than their nearest challengers.<\/p>\n<p><em>Good luck to all of our teams this weekend, and if you&#8217;re free why not pop down and support!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Men&#8217;s 3s &amp; 4s return to outdoor, whilst the Ladies 5s host two big games.
