{"id":3334,"date":"2018-02-23T14:35:07","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T14:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/?p=3334"},"modified":"2018-03-02T14:01:59","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T14:01:59","slug":"weekend-review-24th-25th-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/weekend-review-24th-25th-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Preview &#8211; 24th\/25th February"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The return of the 1st and 2nd XI teams means all eleven teams are in action this weekend &#8211; two of which have double headers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>M1s vs. Kelburne 1s (1.30pm, A); M2s vs. Grove Menzieshill 2s (1.30pm, A); M3s vs. Uddingston 3s (1.30pm, H); M4s vs. Greenock 2s (1.00pm, A &#8211; Sunday); M5s vs. Giffnock 3s (12.00 noon, H)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>L1s vs. Kelburne 1s (3.00pm, A); L2s vs. CALA Edinburgh 2s (3.00pm, H); L3s vs. Waverely Inveresk Trinity 1s (1.30pm, A); L4s vs. Glasgow University 2s (4.30pm, H); L5s vs. Dumfries 2s (3.00pm, H &#8211; HGS); L5s vs. Irvine 1s (1.00pm, A &#8211; Sunday); L6s vs. Arran 1s (1.30pm, H &#8211; HGS); L6s vs. Stepps 2s (1.30pm, A &#8211; Sunday)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Clydesdale Men&#8217;s 1st XI return to outdoor league action against champions Kelburne at Glasgow Green, 1.30pm pushback.&nbsp; The 1s have lost their last five league games, which has left them 8th in the Men&#8217;s National Division One table.&nbsp; The last time the two sides met, &#8216;Dale pegged back a two goal deficit but eventually succumbed to a 6-3 defeat to the Paisley side.<\/p>\n<p>Clydesdale Western 1st XI face Kelburne Women&#8217;s 1st XI straight after the Men&#8217;s 1s, 3.00pm pushback at Glasgow Green.&nbsp; &#8216;Dale Western 1s, who beat Kelburne 5-0 in the team&#8217;s previous meeting this season, are aiming to keep in touch with Women&#8217;s National Division One league leaders Edinburgh University.<\/p>\n<p>In the rest of the weekend&#8217;s games, the M2s face Grove Menzieshill 2s at Forthbank (1.30pm PB).&nbsp; The M2s are hoping to keep up their league challenge with a win against Menzieshill &#8211; the M2s won 3-2 in the first game of the season between the two sides.&nbsp; The M3s also play at 1.30pm, but at home to Men&#8217;s West District Division One league leaders Uddingston 3s.&nbsp; Both sides have already played each other in league and cup this season &#8211; Uddy won 7-2 in the league, before the M3s won by the exact same scoreline in the cup.&nbsp; The M4s are away to Greenock 2s on Sunday from 1.00pm and the M5s play at home to Giffnock 3s, 12.00 noon pushback.<\/p>\n<p>The L2s are at home to CALA Edinburgh 2s at 3.00pm.&nbsp; Much like the M2s, the L2s are aiming to be champions of the Championship League Division One table by the end of the season.&nbsp; The L2s beat CALA 2s 9-1 in the season&#8217;s opening game.&nbsp; The L3s visit Waverley Inveresk Trinity, 1.30pm PB whilst the L4s play at home to Glasgow University 2s from 4.30pm.&nbsp; The L5s &amp; L6s have double headers this weekend.&nbsp; The L5s play at Hutchesons Grammar School against Dumfries 2s (3.00pm PB) on Saturday, then away to Irvine 1s on Sunday (1.00pm PB).&nbsp; The L6s, on Saturday, are also at Hutchie against Arran 1s (1.30pm PB) before playing at the exact same time on Sunday away to Stepps 2s.<\/p>\n<p><em>We&#8217;d like to wish the best of luck to all of our teams, especially to those in their first outdoor game back!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The return of the 1st and 2nd XI teams means all eleven teams are in action this weekend &#8211; two of which have double headers.
