{"id":3417,"date":"2018-03-23T21:00:42","date_gmt":"2018-03-23T21:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/?p=3417"},"modified":"2018-03-30T08:21:39","modified_gmt":"2018-03-30T08:21:39","slug":"weekend-preview-24th-25th-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/weekend-preview-24th-25th-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Preview &#8211; 24th\/25th March"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>After some huge results last weekend, a number of our Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams have some pivotal and potentially season defining matches.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Saturday &#8211; M1s vs. Western Wildcats 1s (1.30pm, A); M2s vs. Uddingston 2s (5.30pm, H); M3s vs. Hillhead 4s (1.00pm, H); M4s vs. Kelburne 5s (12.00 noon); M5s vs. Oban 1s (11.30am, H); L1s vs. Western Wildcats 1s (12.00 noon, A); L2s vs. George Heriots FP 1s (4.00pm, H); L3s vs. Edinburgh University 3s (2.30pm, H); L5s vs. Uddingston 2s (3.00pm, A); L6s vs. Irvine 1s (1.30pm, H &#8211; HGS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday &#8211; L2s vs. Waverely Inveresk Trinity 1s (1.30pm, A); L3s vs. Watsonians 2s (2.30pm, H); L5s vs. Ferguslie 1s (12.30pm, A)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Clydesdale Men&#8217;s 1st XI will hope to steer further away from a relegation play off place when they take on Western Wildcats 1s at Auchenhowie from 1.30pm.&nbsp; The M1s are currently three points clear of 7th placed Dundee Wanderers in the Men&#8217;s National Division One table, and eight points behind this weekend&#8217;s opponents.&nbsp; Clydesdale Western 1s will play before the M1s at noon against Wildcats Ladies 1st XI.&nbsp; Despite last Saturday&#8217;s defeat, &#8216;Dale Western will hope to keep up their challenge to be league champions of Women&#8217;s National Division One.&nbsp; The girls are in 2nd place, five points off top spot with five games to play.<\/p>\n<p>In the rest of Saturday&#8217;s games, the M2s play the final game of the day at Titwood from 5.30pm against Uddingston 2s.&nbsp; The M3s play their final league game of the season when they host Hillhead 4s from 1.00pm.&nbsp; The M4s know a win against nearest league opponents Kelburne 5s will confirm them as winners of Men&#8217;s West District Division Three &#8211; the two sides face each other from noon at Glasgow Green.&nbsp; The M5s play Titwood&#8217;s first game of the day when they welcome Oban 1s from 11.30am.&nbsp; In the ladies fixtures, the L6s face Irvine 1s from 1.30pm at Hutchesons&#8217; Grammar School in their bid to avoid relegation from Women&#8217;s West District Division Three.&nbsp; The L2s, L3s and L5s have double headers this weekend.&nbsp; The L2s play George Heriots FP 1s on Saturday, 2.30pm PB at home before visiting Edinburgh to play Waverley Inveresk Trinity 1s on Sunday, 1.30pm PB at Edinburgh Academy.&nbsp; The L3s have two home games &#8211; on Saturday, they play Edinburgh University 3s from 2.30pm, and then at the same time the following day play Watsonians 2s.&nbsp; The L5s have two away games against Uddingston 2s at Bothwell Castle Policies (3.00pm on Saturday) and Ferguslie 1s at Linwood (12.30pm on Sunday).<\/p>\n<p><em>Best of luck to all of our teams this weekend!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: Rhona Weir<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After some huge results last weekend, a number of our Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams have some pivotal and potentially season defining matches.
