{"id":5368,"date":"2019-10-11T13:40:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T13:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/?p=5368"},"modified":"2019-10-16T20:49:31","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T20:49:31","slug":"weekend-preview-13th-october-cup-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clydesdalehockey.org.uk\/staging\/weekend-preview-13th-october-cup-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Preview &#8211; 13th October &#8211; Cup Games"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>On Sunday, seven teams are involved in the first round of cup competitions scheduled by Scottish Hockey.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L1s vs. Edinburgh University 1s &#8211; 2.30pm (A)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s Scottish Cup First Round<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clydesdale Western 1s will face Edinburgh University 1s twice in two days, with their meeting on Sunday &#8211; a 2.30pm passback at Peffermill &#8211; being part of First Round ties in the Women&#8217;s Scottish Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following their league meeting, the L1s will cross to the East in a bid to exercise the demons of last season&#8217;s cup exit at the hands of Uni.  The students prevailed with a 2-0 win back in March 2019, which set them on the road to claiming a league and cup double.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Derek Forsyth is expected to be unchanged from the league meeting on Saturday between the two teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M1s vs. Uddingston 1s &#8211; 3.00pm (A)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s Scottish Cup First Round<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clydesdale Men&#8217;s 1s will be away at Uddingston 1s in the First Round of the Men&#8217;s Scottish Cup from 3.00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The M1s fell at the Quarter Finals last season, losing 3-1 at home to eventual finalists Grove Menzieshill 1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head Coach Ciaran Crawford is expected to have the same line up that feature in their league campaign against Grange the day before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Men&#8217;s District Cup First Round &#8211; M2s vs. Dundee Wanderers 2s &#8211; 1.30pm (A); Men&#8217;s Reserve Cup First Round &#8211; M3s vs. Dundee Wanderers 3s &#8211; 12.30pm (H)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align:left\">Women&#8217;s Scottish Cup First Round &#8211; L2s vs. Erskine Stewart&#8217;s Melville 1s &#8211; 2.00pm (A); L3s vs. Grange EL 1s &#8211; 3.30pm (H); Women&#8217;s District Cup First Round &#8211; L4s vs. Ardrossan 1s &#8211; 2.00pm (H)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Of the remaining five cup fixtures, three will be at home for our Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Men&#8217;s 2s and 3s will be up against the 2s and 3s of Dundee Wanderers respectively.  The M2s, in the Men&#8217;s District Cup, will take to the field at Dalnacraig from 1.30pm against Wanderers 2s.  Whilst in the Men&#8217;s Reserve Cup, Wanderers 3s will make the journey to Glasgow to play the M3s at Titwood from 12.30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The L2s and L3s are up against tough opposition in the Women&#8217;s Scottish Cup in the opening round.  The L2s will play away in Edinburgh for a second day in a row, this time against Erskine Stewart&#8217;s Melville 1s from 2.00pm.  The L3s host Edinburgh side, Grange EL from 3.30pm.
